Feb 13 to Feb 17 The Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival occurs in February of each year, and brings residents together in a celebration of the culture and traditions of the area. The Pas Dog Derby pits skilled teams of sled dogs against each other in a gruelling race over rough and uneven terrain, and King and Queen Trapper events includes ice fishing, canoe packing, log throwing and moose and goose calling. Some elements of the festival date as far back as 1912, and have remained relatively the same since.
